3 mins read

Putnam, a leader in scientific and strategic advisory services for the life sciences industry, has welcomed Lori Klein as a new Partner local to New England in the US to lead the firm’s Medical and Scientific Affairs practice.

Lori brings over 25 years of experience in Medical Affairs, with over 15 of those years part of CDM, a New York based agency where she built out the Medical Affairs team and later became President. Most recently, Lori has been an independent consultant at her founding consultancy, Bench Wing, with a focus on providing strategic guidance to Medical Affairs teams. Earlier in her career, she gained experience in medical education and medical liaison training within pharma at Bayer, consulting for pharmacy benefit management companies with Zaske & Associates and conducting clinical research and teaching at the University of Minnesota.

She was most drawn to Putnam for its impressive reputation as a leader in life sciences consulting, the people and culture, and the forward-thinking innovation across data strategy. The opportunity to partner with other companies within Inizio was also a plus.

Putnam CEO, Remco op den Kelder, shares, “Putnam has long provided support to Medical and Scientific Affairs teams to complement our Commercial and Value, Pricing, and Access offerings. Over the past few years, we have been expanding the breadth and depth of our medical and scientific strategic services – and having Lori join our team provides us with the additional leadership to continue this journey.”

As the leader of the Medical & Scientific Affairs practice for Putnam, Lori will focus on areas including stakeholder engagement, Medical Affairs organizational structure, strategic medical launch plans, integrated medical evidence, centers of excellence profiling and best practices, digital health including AI and software as a medical device (SaMD), and omnichannel strategy. When asked what she is most excited for in this new role, she shared, “I’m thrilled to partner with the Putnam team to bring strategic solutions for our Medical Affairs clients. With our deep vertical expertise in Medical Affairs combined with the ability to leverage cross-functional expertise across Brand, Access, and Data, we can advise clients with a unique approach to solve their complex product and patient challenges.”

Lori will work closely with Eric Auger, Partner, Global Value, Pricing, and Access practice lead. Eric shares, “We are very excited to add Lori to the Putnam leadership team. She is an accomplished leader, and her depth of domain expertise, strategic mindset, and passion for developing people and teams will be instrumental to expanding and distinguishing our Medical and Scientific Affairs Strategy offering.

Please join the firm in welcoming Lori to the team.
