Putnam kicked off its annual holiday charitable giving program this week to run throughout the month of December. As part of the program, the firm is supporting The Home for Little Wanderers Big Wishes Gift Drive and the Hope and Comfort Stock the Shelves Event. The Home for Little Wanderers is a local organization that supports children in at-risk communities. Last year, we fulfilled over 50 wishes and we hope to fulfill even more this year! Hope and Comfort’s mission is to provide low-income and homeless children and adults with the essential personal care products necessary to maintain and improve health and self-esteem. Due to cost, obtaining personal hygiene products can be a huge challenge for these families. Through the Stock the Shelves program, Hope and Comfort increases access to basic and critical personal care products in the Greater Boston community by placing these products on food pantry shelves. In addition to collecting these products during our Drive, Putnam will participate in a “Packing Event” at Hope and Comfort’s warehouse in January to sort, pack, and prep them for delivery to their distribution partners.
In addition, Putnam has held a Charitable Matching program since the firm’s inception over 25 years ago. For 2016, the firm selected five not-for-profit organizations addressing a range of needs in our national and local communities. The firm makes a donation to each of the organizations as well as matches contributions made by its employees. This year’s charities include:
