Last week, Putnam came together as one collaborative team with colleagues from around the world to participate in their annual LEAD training – a few days of leadership development, networking, team building, in-depth workshops, and more. The team had the unique and exciting opportunity to partner with Cheeriodicals, an organization that provides a team building experience centered on corporate social responsibility.
Putnam worked collaboratively to build 80 boxes of cheer to benefit patients at Franciscan Children’s hospital in Brighton, MA. Franciscan Children’s creates a compassionate environment, offering personalized care and education for children with special healthcare needs, working to instill courage in each child to reach their full potential. Many of the children face long-term illnesses and spend a long duration of time in the hospital. The boxes are age-appropriate and include fun crafts, games, and small toys to help brighten their day.
Putnam’s Chief People Officer, Maeghan Sulham shares, “It was amazing to see our Putnam team members from all over the world come together for a team building event that enabled us to give back to our local healthcare community. Our people were so excited to be able to do something tangible to impact children’s lives in a meaningful and fun way.”

Putnam CEO, Remco op den Kelder, also joined in the charity activity and delivered the boxes to the hospital the following day. He shares, “At Putnam, we believe in supporting the communities in which we live and work in. Being able to work with the Franciscan Children’s hospital to provide gifts that will sure bring some smiles and hours of entertainment to children, many of which will be in the hospital during the holidays, was very rewarding for our team.”
