Associate Position
Putnam hires recent graduates from leading undergraduate universities for the position of Associate. Experienced undergraduates with one to two years work experience in consulting, banking or healthcare are also encouraged to apply. Candidates for the position will have demonstrated excellence both as an undergraduate and during internships and/or previous full-time employment. Candidates will have proven analytical skills as well as a strong quantitative background. Strong computer skills and an understanding of statistical methods are essential.
Associates work in case teams of between three and five professionals led by a manager or partner. While responsibilities vary greatly from case to case, on a typical project an associate may develop a model to forecast product revenues, conduct primary research with physicians and managed care, or assess the clinical profiles and marketing strategies of competitive products. Associates are asked to travel and to work long hours as demanded by the nature of their project; on average, associates work 55-60 hour work weeks. There is an opportunity for exceptional associates to be promoted to the position of consultant.
