Richard Tinsley, Partner
A Partner at Putnam Associates for more than 13 years with over 22 years of strategy experience and 16 years dedicated to healthcare markets, Mr. Tinsley has expertise in pharmaceutical/biotech alliance management, portfolio prioritization, product pricing and payer strategy, physician/consumer growth strategy, promotional mix/spend optimization, organizational restructuring, and product lifecycle management. Most recently, he has worked on strategies involving the changing commercial environment for the delivery of oncology services, strategies for products post loss of exclusivity, and companion diagnostics. Prior to joining Putnam, he was Chief Operating Officer of a financial services company overseeing $3.6 billion in client assets. Richard also worked at Bain & Company. His combination of operational and consulting experience provides a valuable perspective with which to understand the needs and pressures of client executives and the businesses they are managing. Recently, Richard was published in Pharmaceutical Commerce and in BioProcess International on the topic of companion diagnostics. Richard will be serving on the board of directors for The Jericho Road Project, which is dedicated to worthy community causes in the Boston area. He is a strategic advisor to his wife’s medical primary care practice in Lowell, MA, a leading practice in the area. Furthermore, at the Yale School of Management he is leading a healthcare field study project on strategic planning for medical practices. Richard holds an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He also earned an MA degree in Education from Stanford University and a BS degree in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
