Careers:

Descriptions: Analyst

The Analyst position is the entry point where individuals graduating from leading universities and colleges can join our firm. It is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the strategic issues that face today's pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as understand the specific challenges affecting the world's healthcare systems.

Analysts work in case teams of 4-7 professionals led by a Manager or Partner. They are instrumental in developing building blocks of the case, working throughout to help identify critical issues and develop key analytical components which lead to the ultimate conclusions and recommendations.

This is the level where novel information is uncovered and tested under rigorous analyses. Through this process, Analysts develop sound business and strategy fundamentals and a thorough understanding of how to solve complex business issues.

While responsibilities vary greatly from case to case, on a typical project an Analyst can expect to:

  • Collect data on markets, physicians, patients and competitive products through Internet and database searches, market research and other commercial reports
  • Review and summarize internal client data
  • Conduct primary research involving telephone interviews with physicians, managed care and industry experts
  • Perform strategic analyses including developing market shares and growth trends, testing of purchase criteria, creating pricing scenarios and assessing dimensions of competitive position
  • Work with sophisticated financial models, build discounted cash flow forecasts and value strategic options
  • Collaborate with case team members to derive trends, conclusions and recommendations based on the analyses
  • Turn findings into thoughtful insights and strategic recommendations for the client

After one year, Analysts are promoted to the Associate Consultant position.
